DSO&Co Terms & Conditions
Down Syndrome Opportunities and Connections CIC
1. Bookings
Places for DSO&Co activities and events must be booked through the relevant booking system or by contacting DSO&Co where applicable.
A booking is confirmed once payment has been received, where payment is required.
By making a booking, you confirm that the information provided is accurate and that you have permission to make the booking for the person attending.
2. Payments and refunds
Payment must be made at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed with DSO&Co.
Once a booking has been confirmed, the service is non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances.
If DSO&Co has to cancel an activity or event, a full refund or alternative arrangement will be offered where appropriate.
If an activity is moved to another date, DSO&Co will provide information about the new date and any available options.
3. Online Zoom activities
For online activities, participants should join from a suitable and safe environment where possible.
Regular attendance is important for the success of programmes and group activities.
Participants are expected to behave respectfully towards other participants and the DSO&Co facilitator.
The Zoom link provided for a session must not be shared with anyone else. The link is for the person who has booked and should not be forwarded or posted elsewhere.
Participants must not take photographs, screenshots or recordings of other participants or the session.
DSO&Co may remove a participant from a session if their behaviour is considered unsafe, inappropriate or disruptive to others.
4. In-person activities and events
Parents, carers or support staff remain responsible for the person attending unless DSO&Co has specifically agreed otherwise.
The level of supervision provided will depend on the individual activity and will be explained when booking where relevant.
Participants are expected to follow reasonable instructions from DSO&Co staff and behave respectfully towards other participants, staff and venues.
DSO&Co reserves the right to ask a participant to leave an activity if their behaviour presents a safety concern or significantly affects the experience of others.
5. Information about the person attending
When booking, you may be asked to provide information that helps DSO&Co prepare for and deliver the activity safely and appropriately.
Please tell us about anything we need to know that may affect the person's participation or support needs.
Only information that is relevant to the activity should be provided.
6. Photos and videos
DSO&Co will take photographs and videos at activities and events.
Permission for photographs and videos is requested separately through the booking participant information form.
You do not have to give permission for photographs or videos in order to attend an activity.
Where permission has not been given, DSO&Co will take reasonable steps to avoid including that person in promotional photographs or videos.
Permission can be withdrawn by contacting DSO&Co.
7. Changes to activities
DSO&Co may occasionally need to change the date, time, venue, facilitator or content of an activity.
We will provide as much notice as reasonably possible where a change is necessary.
8. Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of participants is important to DSO&Co.
Any safeguarding concern may be acted upon in accordance with DSO&Co's safeguarding procedures.
Information may be shared with an appropriate person or organisation where this is necessary to protect a child, young person or adult from harm.
9. Liability
DSO&Co will take reasonable steps to provide activities in a safe and appropriate way.
Participants and their parents, carers or support staff remain responsible for providing any information that DSO&Co needs in order to support safe participation.
DSO&Co cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to an activity.
10. Acceptance of these terms
By booking an activity or event, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you are booking on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you are authorised to make the booking and agree to these Terms & Conditions on their behalf.
